Because of their popularity and the tax advantages they offer to both you and your employees, it is likely that you will want to evaluate qualified plans first. As a result, they are often considered a more effective tool than nonqualified plans for attracting and retaining large numbers of quality employees for companies.

Defined Benefit Plans Vs. Defined Contribution Plans
