The idea that these decisions depend on employee performance is quite vague and not precise at all.' This is the reason why the process of unemployment is so depressing to the employees who are affected; the layoff is not personal and is simply a tool to maintain the employment and financial stability of the company. Layoffs are not a person’s worth or value but rather a way of cutting costs to enable the company to operate and be financially sound.
